After 12 years of corporate/government life I decided that it was time to break free from the 'cubicle,' even though I finally got a window office, and follow my dream of owning and operating an art studio.
From the age of 10 my mother and I roamed the aisles of our local art store scouring the shelves for painting kits, colored pencils, drawing books, and anything I could get my hands on to become the artist I always wanted to be. Over the years I dabbled in mosaic tilework, pottery, and painting, but finally found my niche in jewelry design and fabrication. After taking my first jewelry class, at my community art center, I finally found the medium that I connected with. As a self-taught artist I explore and learn on my own which I feel gives me more creative freedom.
It was during these same classes that I realized that the current school's curriculum left little or no time for artists to practice their techniques or finish a project that they started during another class. Also, many students do not have fully equipped studios at home. Then the thought hit me! How cool would it be to build a studio from the ground up? A place to foster creativity and imagination, collaborate ideas, and create magnificent art. To make a studio 'for the students' and a workspace and curriculum created 'by the instructors.'
That is how Atlanta Art Worx was born.

"I'm a bit of an artistic jack-of-all-trades; I draw, paint, print, make homemade books and more. I'm a graduate of the University of Georgia with a BFA in jewelry and metals and a minor in Japanese. It was supposed to be the other way around, but once I discovered metalwork I've never looked back. I love nothing more than crafting something beautiful with my own hands that will delight someone when they receive it."

Official cute and lovable studio dog.
